In November 2013, the School Board filed a complaint with the Florida Commission on Ethics against Superintendent Charlie Van Zant for alleged violations of Florida Statutes surrounding a conference to highlight American history.  On July 25, 2014, the Commission on Ethics ruled that the complaint was clearly unfounded and accusations were proven to be false. 

Because Bruce Bickner represents the School Board in conflicts between the School Board and Superintendent, it was necessary for Superintendent Van Zant to acquire services from the outside to act as his legal advisor in this case. The bill for these services is attached and payment is due.
