2. Board Member discussion on School Concurrency Issues
The Board discussion in this workshop was facilitated by Mr. Bolla. The discussion centered around how best to present the school district's decisions regarding school concurrency issues to the County's consultants in a special meeting scheduled for August 28. However, it was apparent that there are several unresolved issues with the DCA and DOE regarding Level of Service and, until these issues can be resolved, the Board cannot set the LOS which is an essential first-step element in the planning process. Thad Crowe from the County Planning and Zoning Department is asking for a 30-day extension in order to get these issues resolved. Whether or not this extension is approved, will determine the need for action at the meeting on April 28. Regardless, the Kimley-Horne consultants will be present on the 28th for further Board discussion on school concurrency issues.
