The enrollment projections provided in the attachment is based upon the D.O.E.'s COFTE student projection for the next five years.  This projection directly leads to the calculation of the L.O.S.  The projection is annually balanced to the D.O.E.'s projection and change to one school will require an equal change to another.  It is important that the Board accept a projection that is reasonable from which we can consider any initiatives necessary to affect the L.O.S.  Should the School Board have issue with the projection as a whole or any individual school, resolution must be developed prior to August 28, 2006.  These projections will be included in the Educational Facilities Plan and inherent in the Intelocal Agreement.

Please Note:  The attachment identifies delaying Elementary School 'R' to open August, 2009 vs. August, 2008.  This is a change to the document you received on August 17, 2006.  As the Educational Facilities Plan was being developed, which will be provided on August 28, 2006, this school could not be maintained on the planned schedule.  Cost of construction and funding availability requires this school to be delayed one year.
