Issue/Rationale
For bid / RFP to be awarded as required per FS 287, DOE 6A-1.01 and School Board Policy
a. Ramp Systems and Stair Systems Bid #12-F-214 - Contract Period is December 16, 2011 through December 18, 2014 – Bid established for the purchase, delivery and/or installation of Ramp Systems and Stair Systems as needed for various schools and departments county-wide. Fourteen (14) bids solicited plus listed on our web site for down load and three (3) bids were received. The vendor awarded is the lowest most qualified responsive bidder meeting specifications.
b. Covered Walkways County-Wide Bid #12-F-213 - Contract Period is December 16, 2011 through December 18, 2014 – Bid established for the purchase, delivery and/or installation of Covered Walkways as needed for various schools and departments county-wide. Forty-one (41) bids solicited plus listed on our web site for down load and three (3) bids were received with two (2) of the three (3) bids being a No Bid. One vendor declined to bid due to the fact they do not offer the product or service requested. The other vendor declined to bid due to fact current work load schedule does not permit. The Purchasing Department compared current bid rate of $100.85 to previous bid pricing (listed lowest to highest rates) $65.39*, $109.66, $149.84, $152.00 (*Current vendor who is closing their office effective 12/31/11) therefore this office recommends the only responsive qualified bidder meeting specifications be awarded.c. Fencing & Gates County Wide Bid #12-F-215 - Contract Period is December 16, 2011 through December 18, 2014 – Bid established for the purchase, delivery and installation of Fencing & Gates as needed for various schools and departments county-wide. Nineteen (19) bids solicited plus listed on our web site for down load and four (4) bids were received and one (1) late bid. The vendors awarded are the lowest most qualified responsive bidders meeting specifications.
