C-5 Approve settlement of contract dispute with Mobile Fixture and Equipment Company
Issue/Rationale
This is a contract dispute that occurred when a contractor ordered kitchen equipment for a school district construction project. The general contractor had not completed the contract with the supplier. The school district, however, approved the purchase by the supplier. It was later determined that the supplier would not be used, however the purchases by the supplier had already been made. Supplier alleges damages as a result of district personnel actions. The case is set for mediation on December 15, 2014. The approval of any settlement made at mediation is required.
Recommended Action
Superintendent recommends approval.
