C-48 (Bolla) Construction Contract for Thunderbolt Elementary School New Parking Lot

Issue/Rationale

This project is listed in the 2007/2008 Educational Facilities Plan. The award of a construction project in excess of $25,000.00 requires School Board approval.

The bid opening was held Thursday, January 31, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. The project had four (4) bidders and all bidders met the bid requirements.

Recommended Action
Award the construction contract to Walding Company, Inc., the low bidder meeting specifications, the base bid in the amount of $574,327.00.

Financial Impact
The low bidder meeting specifications, Walding Company, Inc., has a total bid award of $574,327.00. These funds are available and will be funded with Part III Capital Outlay funding.
