The number and frequency of ad hoc report requests is increasing as the District responds to information requests from regulatory agencies.  Divisions are also increasing the frequency of requests taking a significant toll on the programming and database resources that are limited.

Programming staff has identified software that can greatly decrease the time required to create reports, interface to spreadsheet systems, create Web pages, and distribute reports to schools.  

Approval to contract with Business Computer Design, International, Inc. and Help Systems for software in the total amount of $53,495.

6 Programmer + 2 Database people that create reports and deliver to schools and District Office personnel average of 15% productivity gain results in $78,000 annual non-cash.

Additional benefit will be obtained by creating interactive request Web pages for use by the schools.  This will allow school based personnel to request and run their own reports without Information Services intervention.
