Item Title
Donation of two busses to Florida National Guard for use at the Florida Youth Challenge Academy
Issue/Rationale
Busses 327 and 332 have been declared surplus. The value of each, as set forth in the attached memorandum, is $3500.00 or less and said busses are obsolete and uneconomical for School Board use. The terms of F.S.274.06 and 1013.28(2) allow disposition of such tangible personal property items by the most cost effective and efficient means. Florida Youth Challenge Academy is in need of our surplus busses to transport students. Donation of these busses by title transfer to the Florida National Guard for use at the Florida Youth Challenge Academy would serve a valid public purpose.
Recommended Action
Approve the donation of surplus school busses numbered 327 and 332 to the Florida National Guard for use at Florida Youth Challenge Academy.
Financial Impact
The value of each bus is less than $3500.00. The total impact to the school district in lost auction proceeds is less than $7000.00
