Item Title
Appointment, Redesignation and Approval of Out-of-Field Teachers
Issue/Rationale
Florida Statutes require that a teacher who is teaching out-of-field be appointed as out-of-field by the School Board. It is also required by auditors that the out-of-field teachers be approved prior to completion of the FTE survey week. The survey week is February 9-13, 2009.
The list of teachers for out-of-field appointment will be posted to the eAgenda by Attachment by the end of the day on Friday, February 6, 2009. This will allow for the list to be as up to date as possible prior to the Board's action on Monday, February 9, 2009, and still meet the Board's 48-hour deadline for providing information for action.
Recommended Action
Approve the out-of-field appointments and redesignations as submitted.
Financial Impact
Board action allows for earning FTE appropriately and avoiding audit criticism and reduction in FTE.
