Issue/Rationale
The following instructional materials series are recommended for standardized adoption for SDCC beginning in the 09-10 school year:
Holt McDougal Littell Literature 7 - 12
Macmillan/McGraw-Hill Spotlight on Music K - 6
Materials were selected according to SDCC instructional materials procedures and Florida adoption policies and timelines.
State statute requires adoption of core materials in the first 2 years of an adoption. Literature books are correlated to new state standards. Music books are correlated to state standards and K-6 reading series.
Recommended Action
Approve standardized adoption of Holt McDougal Littell Literature 7 - 12 and Macmillan/McGraw-Hill Spotlight on Music K - 6.
Financial Impact
$928,000 for 7-12 literature textbooks and resources including digital content
$298,135 for 1 classroom set of music materials and resources per grade level for each elementary school (includes digital content)
$1,226,135 total is contingent on state categorical instructional materials funding
