Establish a Substantial Completion date formally for audit purposes, and as required by the State Requirements for Educational Facilities and Florida Statutes. This date is determined by the Project Manager in accordance with project documents. Substantial Completion was achieved on July 20, 2005.

The project, as determined by the Project Manager and Project Architect, is substantially complete and in accordance with the project documents. Liquidated damages are specified in the contract; therefore, a substantial completion date must be formally established. The substantial completion date required by contract, as modified by change orders, is June 26, 2005. The Architect was called by the Contractor to perform the substantial completion inspection on July 20, 2005. The Architect could not inspect for substantial completion until July 26, 2005. The Architect submitted his inspection date in lieu of the date the Contractor was ready. Board agenda item #35 submitted on August 18, 2005 was an incorrect date. This item corrects that date. Liquidated damages in the amount of $24,000.00 will be assessed in the project’s final payment.
