Item Title
Discuss request from the Board of County Commissioners and appoint members to serve on the 2008 Value Adjustment Board

Issue/Rationale
Based on new legislation which goes into effect September 1, 2008, the School Board must choose one of its members and appoint one citizen member to serve on the VAB.  The citizen member must meet the required qualifications that are outlined in the Bill.  If a citizen member has not been selected in time for the tax rolls to be certified, the County Attorney, Fran Moss, has suggested the School Board select two of its members to serve on the VAB for the pupose of one meeting in August to certify the tax rolls.  (See attached correspondence)

Recommended Action

Select two Board members to serve on the VAB, one of which will serve from July 18, 2008 through August 31, 2008 and the other of which will serve a full term beginning July 18, 2008.   Additionally, select one citizen member who will serve a full term beginning September 1, 2008.
