Recent changes to Policy 5.02A, by a 3-2 majority vote of the School Board on April 17, 2014, removed approval authority from the Superintendent for purchases and expenditures.  Therefore, the School Board must act as a collective body in a public meeting to approve any expenditures of the School Board.  Absent the Board action, the Chairman or any member of the School Board would be acting as an administrator in the district which is expressly prohibited by Florida Statute.
