Item Title
C-31 Ratification of Contract between School Board of Clay County, Florida and Lunch Byte, Inc.
Issue/Rationale
The School Board is in need of the services offered by Lunch Byte, Inc., specifically for Nutrikids software and maintenance on Point of Sale and Free and Reduced meals. The use of this service was approved as part of the Strategic Plan.
The present system does not network between school and district. NutriKids incorporates food service operation at both the district and school site levels thereby reducing the abundance of time spend re-keying information. NutriKids is currently in more than 8,000 school systems and is approved by the USDA for use in implementing Nutrient Standard Menu Planning or conducting nutrient analysis to meet School Meals Initiative requirements.
Due to the short time constraints this contract was executed by the Director of Purchasing in accordance with Board policy. This contract is being brought to the Board for information purposes and for ratification.

Financial Impact
Initial purchase for monitor upgrades, training and one year maintenance $94,180.00 Maintenance after first is $9,210.00 + ($245.00 per new school site).
