Item Title
C-43 Approve Write-Off of "Missing" Property Items for 2008-2009
Issue/Rationale
ISSUE: The items listed have been reported missing as a result of the 08/09 Inventory Check and Audit. Property Control has stressed the importance of exhausting all possible channels in an effort to locate these items before Board approved deletion takes place. Property Managers have been instructed to research each missing item in an effort to verify location, information or explanation that might be helpful to this process. Local Sheriff and Police Departments are also being furnished with this Report to assist in recovery.
RATIONALE: As stated in Section 274.02, Florida Statutes - Tangible Personal Property - "A complete physical inventory of all property shall be taken annually, and the date inventoried shall be entered on the Property Record. The inventory shall be compared with the Property Record, and all discrepancies shall be traced and reconciled."
Recommended Action
Approve Write-Off of "Missing" Property Items for 2008-2009 as submitted.
