Item Title
C-32 Contract for supplemental nursing services from Maxim Health Care Services, Inc. for 2006-2007. (Revised)
Issue/Rationale
To provide an additional source of backup nursing care for medically fragile students when school nurses are absent or for students needing special assistance. Also to provide ongoing nursing care that requires high technology equipment when nurses with such training are not available on our staff.
The agreement will be for the fiscal year, 2006-2007. As nursing requirements have become more severe, we have to have the ability to get nursing services in situations where our assigned nurses are not available, i.e. tube feeding, suctioning, etc.
Recommended Action
The Superintendent recommends approval.
Financial Impact
The current fees are within the guidelines for nursing care. This is a continuation of the current contract at the same rates.
