Agenda Item #46 Item Title C-50 Change Order #2 (Days Only) for the Chiller Replacement at Middleburg High School (Revised) Issue/Rationale Change orders are initiated by the Contractor, Architect/Engineer or Owner, which may increase or decrease the scope of the project as defined by the plans and specifications. Once a Change Order is initiated, review/evaluation is undertaken to determine the merit and /or requirements of the Change Order. Change Orders are reviewed by the Architect/Engineer and staff prior to submission to the School Board. Change Orders affect the scope of the project and are required to be School Board approved by State Requirements for Educational Facilities and Florida Statutes. An additional twenty-one (21) days are required due to a shipment delay on the chiller created by the manufacturer and not controllable by the Contractor. This project was scheduled for Substantial Completion effective May 30, 2006. This change will move that date to, on or before, June 20, 2006. Final Completion will also be adjusted 30 days after Substantial Completion (as per project specifications), or to July 20, 2006. Recommended Action Approve the change order as submitted.
