C-21 Contract between the School Board of Clay County and Melissa Whitaker, Student Services Aide with Project R.E.A.C.H. pending approval of the Education for Homeless Children and Youth Program Grant for 2007-2008
Issue/Rationale
The SBCC has been the receipient of the Title X Education for Homeless Children & Youth Programs Grant since 2002-2003. As the district has grown in the number of schools and student population, who has the work load on the two School Social Workers that have coordinated the grant since its inception while continuing to carry their school assignments. This grant funded Student Services Aide relieves the two certified social workers from district-wide clerical duties and will serve a a contact to schools on data collection of homeless children.
Recommended Action
Approve the contract between the School Board of Clay County and Melissa Whitaker, Student Services Aide with Project R.E.A.C.H. pending approval from Florida DOE of the Education for Homeless Children and Youth Program Grant for 2007-2008 as approved.
