March 2, 2009 Workshop-Special Meeting Agenda Item #3 Item Title Request Authority to Retain Conflict Counsel Issue/Rationale The School Board has been sued.  A prior employee has also been named in the suit.  It may be that there is a conflict of interest which will prevent the Board Attorney from representing both the Board and the employee.  It would be in the interest of the Board to allow the Board Attorney to retain counsel for the employee until it can be determined whether or not there is a conflict.
