Issue Rationale for bids to be awarded as required per FS 287, DOE 6A-1.01 and School Board Policy

a. Electrical Construction, Repair and Connection for Existing and/or New Construction and Relocatable Classrooms County Wide Bid #10-F-203 – Bid established for the purchase of all labor, materials (when necessary), equipment and supervision to perform electrical construction, repair and connection.  Contract Period:  March 23, 2009 through March 18, 2010.  Nine (9) bids solicited plus listed on our web site for down load, twelve (12) bids received and one (1) no bid. The vendors awarded were the three (3) lowest, most responsive qualified bidders meeting specifications.

b. Heat Pump Units – Wall Hung Bid #10-MA-299 – Bid established for the purchase of wall hung heat pump units at a firm fixed price.  Contract Period:  March 23, 2009 through March 18, 2010.  Fourteen (14) bids solicited plus listed on our web site for down load, four (4) bids received and one (1) no bid.  The vendor awarded is the lowest most qualified responsive bidder meeting specifications.

c. Paint Labor – County Wide Bid #10-MA-298 – Bid established for the purchase of all labor, materials (when necessary), equipment and supervision to perform painting county wide.  Part One of Bid is for painting of relocatable wooden buildings at a cost per unit price.  Part Two of Bid is for painting other than relocatable classrooms indicated in Part One.  Contract Period:  March 23, 2009 through March 18, 2010.  Twenty (20) bids solicited plus listed on our web site for down load, eleven (11) bids received, one (1) no bid and one (1) bid returned.  The vendors awarded were the three (3) lowest, most responsive qualified bidders meeting specifications.
