Item Title
C-21 Interagency Agreement between School District of Clay County and Clarke Jacksonville Auditory/Oral Center to serve ESE 3-5 year old PreK students for school year 2008-2009.
Issue/Rationale
This Contractual Agreement will enable the School District of Clay County to serve Cochlear Implant Hearing Impaired students, a low-incidence eligible ESE preschool population, through the Clarke School. Clarke School services are monitored by the ESE Director and Designee.
This Contractual Agreement can continue for several years and these services are not available in the district so this would ensure compliance with federal laws.
Recommended Action
The superintendent recommends approval.
Financial Impact
The projected cost of implementing this contractual agreement is about $115,000.00 to $195,000.00. This compares to the School District of Clay County providing the classes in a public school for an equal or greater amount. Clay District Schools collect FEFP FTE and IDEA funds on each child and the contract reduces the Clarke School fees to the current 254 and 253 Matrix amount the district receives.
