Issue Rationale for renewal / increase as required per FS 287, DOE 6A-1.01 and School Board Policy 

a.  Flooring Services County-Wide Bid # 12-MA-302. 

Contract Period May 17, 2013 through October 16, 2014 - The carpet industry is being forced to raise their material prices due to increased cost of raw material and energy cost of carpet production and distribution.  These price increases are being passed on to Teal Tile & Carpet, our bid contractor, who has requested they be allowed to raise their price $0.55 per yard.  This is a reasonable request due to the significant rise in oil prices that could not have been anticipated by industry or Teal Tile & Carpet when placing their bid in October 2011.  This price increase still makes Teal Tile & Carpet the low bidder on the carpet bid and terminating this contract to do a new bid may only produce an even higher price.  Letters are attached supporting this request.  Original Contract Period was October 19, 2011 through October 16, 2014. 

Extend renewal / increase as follows:

a.  Flooring Services County-Wide Bid # 12-MA-302 - To:

·               Teal Tile & Carpet Inc. with Section A Bid price of $10.29 per yard for Mohawk carpet.

a.  Flooring Services County-Wide Bid # 12-MA-302:  Estimated $200,000.00
