Item Title
C-29 Continue contract and agreement with Episcopal Children's Services/Head Start to provide services for ESE students as required by federal law for school year 2009-2010.
Issue/Rationale
Establish working procedures between The School District of Clay County and Episcopal Children's Services/ Head Start to serve eligible preschool children under federal and state laws. This includes providing consultation services to Head Start students with disabilities.
Services are required under federal and state laws.
Recommended Action
Approve continuation of contract and agreement as submitted.
Financial Impact
This agreement provides that the district will earn FTE for the services provided. Current personnel will regularly visit Head Start sites to provide consultation. The state now requires such services to agencies and private schools. Head Start will provide round-trip transportation to schools for therapy services. Consequently, most increases in services for these students will be covered by FTE.
