On June 8, 2011 LaRobert Mims was a student at Oakleaf High School. It was the last day of school and classes had been dismissed. LaRobert Mims was running about squirting water from a water bottle on other students in the bus loop. One of the coaches made an attempt to restrain the student, but the student dropped to the ground and began to crawl away. The coach tried to grab the student by the shirt, lost his balance and fell on the student fracturing both bones of the student's forearm. Surgery was required to set and stabilize the fractures.  Medical bills exceeded $6000.00, Tricare has a lien for in excess of $5600.  Settlement, was reached by concensus between Board Chair Carol Studdard, Dr. George Copeland and Bruce Bickner.  Total settlement for all claims is $9,500.00.
