Agenda Item #56 Item Title C-44 Additive Change Order #3 for Ridgeview Elementary School Chiller Replacement & Air Handling Unit Replacement Buildings 1 & 3 Issue/Rationale Change Orders are initiated by the Contractor, Architect/Engineer or Owner, and may increase or decrease the scope of the project as defined by the plans and specifications. Change Orders are reviewed by the Architect/Engineer and staff prior to submission to the School Board for approval. The additive changes are for upgrading the existing out of date controls on campus with funding already available for the project. These controls are no longer supported by their parent company and parts are not available for repairs. In order to regulate the school’s systems efficiently the defunct controls need to be upgraded to communicate with the new system so there are not incompatibility issues. Because the contractor is already onsite and familiar with the new control system it is cost effective to have him upgrade the existing controls. Recommended Action Approve the Change Order. Financial Impact If approved, this Change Order will increase the contract amount by $21,017.00. Engineer fees will increase by $1,261.02. Submitted By James A.
