Agenda Item #47 Item Title C-37 Deductive Change Order #2 for Tynes Elementary School Buildings 1 & 2 HVAC Replacement Issue/Rationale Change Orders are initiated by the Contractor, Architect/Engineer or Owner, and may increase or decrease the scope of the project as defined by the plans and specifications. Change Orders are reviewed by the Architect/Engineer and staff prior to submission to the School Board for approval. This change order will charge the contractor liquidated damages for failure to substantially complete the project by the substantial completion date of August 8, 2010 by 5 days. Substantial Completion was achieved on August 13, 2010. In accordance with the specifications, failure to meet the substantial completion date results in liquidated damages of $100 a day for every calendar day elapsing between the date fixed for substantial completion and the date substantial completion has actually been achieved. Contractor: Core Construction Company; Engineer: KPI Engineering, Inc. Recommended Action Approve the change order. Financial Impact If approved, this Change Order will decrease the contract amount by $500.00. The substantial completion date was August 13, 2010. Submitted By Michael J.
