Change orders are initiated by the contractor, architect/engineer or owner, and may increase or decrease the scope of the project as defined by the plans and specifications. Change orders are reviewed by the architect/engineer and staff prior to submission to the School Board for approval. This change order is needed to reconcile the contingency funds identified in the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) approved on May 2, 2024 for Oakleaf Junior High School Classroom Addition. Contingency funds were included in the GMP to address unforeseen issues, and change of scope items. The collaborative efforts of D.E. Scorpio Corporation, Inc., Paul Stresing Associates, Inc., and School Board of Clay County’s Facility Planning and Construction Department, resulted in $401,732.04 of the Capital Funds being returned to the District via this deductive change order. This change order will allow the project to be closed out and issuance of final payments.
