Minutes:

Brenda Troutman, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, distributed interview packets with questions and a suggested rubric and provided a brief explanation of the scoring document.  Chair Gilhousen opened the meeting and explained the process to each candidate(s).  The order of proceedings is as follows:

  • Board members will introduce themselves to the candidate
  • Board members will alternately ask the FSBA candidates questions and questions may be repeated to the candidates
  • Answers to questions should be approximately three (3) minutes
  • Board members may ask additional or clarifying questions
  • Board members will score candidates and Ms. Troutman will keep a tally of scores to provide information on total scores to board members
  • Conversations between board members during the lunch break will not involve any component or discussion of this process
  • The board may, at this meeting, make a motion to direct the superintendent and board chair to enter into employment contract negotiations with the candidate of choice
  • Employment contract negotiations do not subscribe to an established timeline
  • A mutually agreed upon/finalized contract will be submitted onto the agenda of a regular board meeting to be voted on/approved by the board.

First Candidate:  Richard Thibault

Second Candidate:  Douglas Law Firm (Carol Simpson, Charlie Douglas, J.P. Steinmetz)

A recess was taken at 12:16 p.m., following the conclusion of the interview of the second candidate, and the meeting was reconvened at 1:02 p.m.

Third Candidate:  Elizabeth Dusinberre 

Fourth Candidate:  Richard DeVall

2. Select Candidate for School Board Attorney Position and Direct Superintendent, in Collaboration with Board Chair, to Enter into Employment Contract Negotiations
Minutes:

Following the conclusion of the interviews, board members tallied their scores of each candidate using the rubric supplied and submitted those scores to Mrs. Troutman for an overall tabulation based on scoring.  At Mrs. Troutman's suggestion, board members discussed the candidates' attributes and proceeded to motion and vote.
