Title C11 - Memorandum of Understanding with Electrical Training Alliance of Jacksonville (ETA JAX)
Description The MOU with ETA JAX outlines a new opportunity for 12-18 seniors at Oakleaf High School where they will take the ETA JAX pre-apprenticeship online course and gain hands-on experience at the ETA JAX facility.
Gap Analysis Electrical Training Alliance (ETA) JAX operates an electrical apprenticeship program whose largest employer is Miller Electric. OHS will offer 1 class period for 12-18 seniors to take the online training modules from ETA Jax. ETA JAX will also host students for field trips at their facility where they will provide hands-on electrical training. Like many industrries in our region, the construction industry has a tremendous amount of work to be completed, but they are experiencing a workforce shortage. This program will give students the opportunity to get a head start in a high-skill, high-wage, high-demand career with no college debt.
Previous Outcomes N/A - This will be the first time Clay County CTE has partnered with ETA JAX for a pre-apprenticeship program.
Expected Outcomes 12-18 OHS seniors will complete the Electrical Training Alliance JAX pre-apprenticeship course. Students will develop workforce skills and become more prepared for college and careers.
Strategic Plan Goal Strategy 1.3: Prepare all students to be full option graduates who are prepared for college, eligible to enlist in military services, or able to compete in the workforce.
