C36 - Keystone Heights High School (KHS) Repiping Science Wing Contract Award
This project is listed in the 2016/2017 Educational Facilities Plan. The award of a construction project in excess of $50,000.00 requires School Board approval. The bid opening was held March 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. The project had one (1) bidder.
Science Curriculum requires the use of gas, water, and air for students to perform hands-on experiments. Not having these services available will greatly reduce the effectiveness of the instruction and the ability of the students to comprehend important concepts.
Although the science wing has been without these services for several years, the prior syllabus did not require their use to be successful.
Restoring the availability of these services will enhance the student’s ability to learn and understand important concepts.
Ensure effective management of the organization, operations, and facilities to maximize the use of resources and promote a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment for Clay County students.
Reject all bids for more competitive pricing.

Cost of project came in over budget. Funds are not available in the Educational Facilities Plan.
