Title
C12 - Family Education Program/Clay Action Coalition
Description

Family Education Program (FEP) is a critical part of the overall intervention related to drugs and alcohol infractins.  Through the Clay Action Coalition, this educational program allows students and families to gain knowledge and insight to the negative impacts of substance use, even under an experiemental condition.  The program provides personnel and materials to facilitate the curriculum, meeting with families 2 nights per week over a six week period.  Parent and student must attend together.

Gap Analysis
Previous Outcomes

Over 3,500 participants were involved with the program in 2016-17.  The following schools had students participate in the program over the course of the 2016-17 academic year.

Table B

Expected Outcomes

Student and family participation will result in a decrease in the number of referrals related to drugs and alcohol infractions for the subgroup overall.  It is expected that the increase in public service announcement and other student-focused activities throughout the year will also help to decrease the number of infractions related to student substance use.
