D1 - Renewal of the Superintendent's current salary
Description

School Board Policy 1.03B states that the salary of the Superintendent is to be reveiewed annually.  It is proposed that the Superintendent's base salary adjustment remain the same as in the previous year.   The following are just a few of the accomplishments which have occurred during his tenure:

  • Increase in FSA Assessments and move the district ranking from #20 to #8 in State
  • Increase in the number of “A” & “B” Schools - "A" schools increased from 17 to 24 in 2018-2019
  • Increase in Graduation Rate to Record High 90.7%
  • Increase in Graduation Subgroups Rates (ESE, ELL, AT-Risks, and African American Students)
  • Increase in Reading Post-Secondary Scores 76% to 82% in 2018-2019
  • Increase in Math Post-Secondary Scores 57% to 67% in 2018-2019
  • Increase in SAT/ACT Averages in 2018-2019
  • Increase in Insight Survey Two Years in a Row Above National Average
  • Decrease in Energy Efficiency Cost and 28 schools were named "Energy Efficient"
  • Increase District Fund Balance from below 4.5% to 4.64%
  • Middle School Acceleration improved by 5 points
  • High School Acceleration improved by 6 points
  • 73% of Title I Schools are rated "A" and "B"
  • 21 out of 40 schools showed overall gains
  • Added Accelerated Programs in all High Schools
  • Increased IB Diplomas earned from 42 to 63
  • Increased AICE Diplomas earned from 95 to 115
Gap Analysis

There is a historical precedence set regarding a salary adjustment for former Superintendents.

Recommendation

Approve the renewal of the Superintendent's current base salary.
