Workshop Items

1. Draft Agenda Review for Regular Meeting on December 15, 2016

Minutes: Preliminary discussion included:
- These workshops are to be a working session for the Board to ask questions and get answers on the matters coming before the Board for action.
- Superintendent Davis stated that in the future, the agenda will be released to the Board on Friday to give more time for review prior to the workshop.
- Chairman Kerekes called attention to the new format with some new categories to highlight students and employees.
- Superintendent Davis expressed his desire to eliminate the 10-minute scheduled citizen request. The public will always have the 3-minute opportunity to speak and with the new format public comment was moved to the beginning of the agenda.
- Superintendent Davis will work with district art coordinators to rotate student artwork and program information on the boardroom builletin boards.
Agenda Review - Item discussion between the Board and Superintendent took place with questions and answers. Discussion included:
- C2 - Proposed Allocation Changes for 2016-2017 - Superintendent Davis addressed changes that are part of his reorganization plan.
- C3 - Florida Safe Schools Assessment Certification - Concern was conveyed about health education and FLYCA
- C4 - Personnel Consent Agenda - Superintendent Davis addressed changes that are part of his reorganization plan.
- C12 - C16 Property Reports - In the future, more detailed reports should come to the Board.
- D2 - Health Insurance One Time Premium Holiday from United Health Care - The rebate will be given in January. The district had to add $84,000 to the rebate to be equitable across the board.
- D3 - Two Creeks Parcel in Oakleaf Area - Discussion about what to do with the parcel. the County Planning & Zoning Department is asking for input. Superintendent Davis would like to see a cost analysis with the possible funding options if the Board wants to purchase.
Following agenda review, there was brief discussion about the future funding of FLYCA, input for Legislative Priorities, and 2017 graduation assignments.
