This proposed Strategic Plan will serve as the guiding document for all departments within the school district over the next five years. This strategic plan has been prepared by district leadership over the last eight months after conducting a thorough review of all facets of the Clay County School District. These targeted goals and initiatives will serve as benchmarks for all staff as we continue to Elevate Clay.

The Coordinator of Strategic Planning will serve as the primary individual responsible for tracking the progress of all identified initiatives and goals within the Strategic Plan. This individual will engage directly with all staff to ensure a continued focus on achieving the primary objectives within the Strategic Plan. The Coordinator of Strategic Planning will also provide routine updates to the Superintendent who will, in turn, update the School Board and general public on the progress and completion of goals within the Strategic Plan.

The district has previously adopted strategic plans for a five year period, however, there does not appear to have been any continuous tracking of strategic plan initiatives or follow-up on district progress with achieving benchmark goals.

With the adoption of this proposed strategic plan, district leadership will constantly monitor staff progress of all identified targets and goals. This monitoring will include providing routine updates to the Superintendent who will in turn update the School Board and general public throughout the year.

The Strategic Plan will be used over the course of the next five years to guide our district as we move forward. This document will serve as a roadmap for all departments within the Clay County School District.

The Board's approval of the Strategic Plan does not in any way obligate the Board to contracts or financial aspects of any of the initiatives contained in this plan.
