E-Rate contracts for Wide Area Network and Internet Access.

Gap Analysis

The current  Wide Area Network and Internet access expires on June 30th and the district requires a new contract for Internet Access and Wide area network to have access to high-speed internet.

ENA contract expires 6/30/19

Expected Outcomes

The district will have the infrastructure and scalability to handle future technologies and bandwidth requirements of the ever increasing technology demands of on-demand video in the classroom, video surveillance in schools, and overall bandwidth requirements the district may have.

Strategic Plan Goal

Goal 2 - Strategy 2.1 - Improve technology in all classrooms and district building.

 

Recommendation

Recommend awarding the contracts to ENA, the winning vendor selected by the E-Rate 470 Review Committee

Financial Impact
The cost to the district will be $6,369,648.00 over 20 years. The cost represents 20% of the total cost. USAC (Schools and Libraries) pays for 80% of the contract. Previous years USAC only paid 60% for Clay County. The total value of the contract is $31,848,240 over 20 years.
