Superintendent Davis explained that there is a discrepancy at Discovery Oaks Elementary in our class size averages/calculations and the Department of Education's calculations between the 10-day count and during the FTE window.  The school district is appealing their claim that the school was not in compliance with class size requirements when Survey 2 ended in October 2018.   If the appeal is not successful, in order to participate in the restoration calculation authorized in statute, we must submit a plan by February 1, 2019, for how we will meet class size requirements for the 2019 October FTE student survey.

It was noted, that the outcome may result in the need to add a K-3 teacher allocation to the February board agenda.
