C8 - Clay Behavioral Health Center Agreement 2018-2019
Description

This contract continues counseling services required for students with significant behavioral disabilities.  Services are provided, in part, by employees of Clay Behavioral Health Center, Inc., on school campuses.  These services supplement the therapy provided by district employees.  Counseling is a mandated service specified in a student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).

Gap Analysis

Mental health counseling services are frequently required for students with disabilities.  Contracting for those services with Clay Behavioral Health Center, Inc., supplements the therapy provided by three district-employed mental health counselors.

Previous Outcomes

The district has contracted with Clay Behavioral Health Center, Inc., since 1998.

Expected Outcomes

This contract provides counseling services to ESE students as determined by the Individual Education Plan (IEP).  Services are required under the Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Strategic Plan Goal

1.1. Provide teachers and students with the tools and resources necessary to meet the demands of the Florida Standards and students’ individual needs.  Services are required under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Recommendation

Continue contracting with Clay Behavioral Health Center, Inc.
