Pursuant to Florida Statute 365.179, the Sheriff of each county is required to facilitate an agreement between all first responders in his county which agencies provide emergency services pursuant to the 911 system. An agreement is required which develops and implements communication systems that allow direct radio communication between public safety answering points and first responders outside the first PSAP’s normal service area to provide for more efficient dispatch of first responders in emergencies.

Approval of this item will allow the all first responder agencies in Clay County to enter into an agreement which provides for development and implementation of a system to broadcast all 911 communications or public safety information regarding an emergency to the first responders and dispatchers with jurisdiction over the service area where the event is occurring.
