Title Approve disposal of personal property; ie. One 1984 Fleetwood mobile Home abandoned on W.E. Cherry Elementary School premises.
Description A cafeteria worker who was employed at W.E. Cherry School retired. She had been living in a 1984 Fleetwood mobile home that was situated on the campus. It had been in one place for so long that it was hemmed in by full-grown trees. Additionally, it is in such bad disrepair that the operations department is of the opinion that it cannot be placed on wheels and, if movement is attempted, it will break apart and be destroyed. The mobile home has a value of less than $2000.00. The mobile home is abandoned by the owner who has signed over the title of the trailer to the School Board. Florida Statute 1013.28 (2)(a) allows the school district to dispose of tangible personal property in accordance with the procedure set forth in Florida Statute 274. Florida Statute 274.06 allows that if the personal property is without commercial value it may be destroyed. Jeff’s Excavating is willing to enter into a contract to destroy the mobile home on site and dispose of it off-site. Their cost for demolition and disposal is under $5,000.00.
