1. Volunteer Presentation

Minutes:

Matt Boyak, Director of Safety and Security, reviewed current volunteer screening processes and recommended updates to policies and procedures to improve school safety. Key points included clarifying volunteer levels, strengthening background checks, updating handbooks and applications, and increasing employee training and accountability. The presentation is attached to the agenda and incorporated into the record.

Board members discussed the proposed volunteer procedures, requesting clarification regarding volunteer classifications, parent communication, volunteer eligibility, training, and implementation. Additional direction included developing a volunteer level graphic and clarifying that individuals participating in athletics or coaching activities would require Level II screening.

2. Policy Review
Minutes:

The Board reviewed proposed revisions, adoptions, and rescissions to multiple School Board Policies, including policies related to administration sick leave, administration sick leave bank, instructional staff sick leave, support staff sick leave, digital content and accessibility, and volunteers (policies reviewed listed below). Discussion included the upcoming advertising and public hearing requirements prior to the policies becoming effective. Board members expressed appreciation for the review of the sick leave policies and recognized the work of staff in developing these updates.

3. Review Draft Agenda for Regular School Board Meeting on August 6, 2026

Minutes:

The Board reviewed the upcoming School Board meeting agenda for August 6, 2026. No concerns or discussion items were identified. Superintendent Broskie expressed enthusiasm for the start of the new school year, highlighting the District's highest academic performance in its history and sharing his optimism for a successful opening while acknowledging the responsibility of ensuring a positive experience for students, families, and staff.
