  • C4 Personnel Consent Agenda - There was lengthy Board discussion about the job description changes. CTE flowchart attached.

  • C7 Advertise modifications to Student Progression Plan - Special diploma will be replaced by certificate of completion in accordance with state mandate; add 120 minutes of recess per HB7069 language.

  • C15 Family Education Program/CAC- Item being deleted because contract is not ready.
  • C16- Advertisement for Code of Student Conduct- Moved to Discussion agenda to bring attention to the changes.
  • C17- Proposed Allocation Changes- revised reporting format; discussion about AP versus VP and CTE changes.

  • C28 Annual Inspection Report - Good overall, only minor deficiencies.

  • C31 GMP for Elem "Y" -  GMP bid opens on June 27th; finalized information will be added to the item; Groundbreaking scheduled for June 29th.

  • D7 Public Hearing for Social Studies Adoption- Need to do a better job listing curriculum and reading materials on our website, especially with the new law that details having a hearing officer for appeals.

Shade Meeting:  

Board Attorney David D’Gata advised the Board of the need for a Litigation Shade meeting pursuant to Section 286.011(8), Florida Statutes, in the matter of Drees Homes of Florida, Inc. v. School Board of Clay County.   The meeting will take place just prior to Adjournment at the June 29th board meeting with an anticipated length of 30 minutes.  A court reporter will be present and the attendees will be all Board Members, School Board Attorney, Superintendent Davis, and outside Counsel Sam Garrison.

 

Mr. D’Gata also mentioned working on a process/guidelines to facilitate and manage litigations, as well as contracts and risk management issues before they go to the Board.
