School Board of Clay County
June 28, 2018 - Regular School Board Meeting
Title
C5 - Approval of FLVS Franchise Agreement
Description

The agreement provides the virtual curriculum for Clay Virtual Academy grades 6-12. This digital curriculum allows Clay Virtual Academy to run as a franchise of Florida Virtual School which reduces the FTE loss to our district. The contract is for the course content and allows teachers to work from the same platform as FLVS. This content is NCAA and College Board approved.

Gap Analysis

This program is essential to the Clay Virtual Academy. It contains the content and curriculum. This program serves as one of our three virtual options as required by state statute. Clay Virtual Academy has franchised with FLVS since 2011.

Previous Outcomes

The usage of this program has allowed for Clay Virtual Academy to meet the virtual needs of Clay County students and reduce the FTE loss to FLVS by operating as a franchise. State statute requires virtual options.

Expected Outcomes

Clay Virtual Academy will be able to operate as a franchise utilizing the course content provided by FLVS.

Strategic Plan Goal
Ensure that every classroom provides a quality and rigorous experience in order to elevate student outcomes.
Recommendation

That the Clay County School Board approve the agreement between FLVS and the Clay County District School.
