Title C3 - SentinelOne Antivirus
Description SentinelOne will replace our previous AntiVirus product, FireEye, to allow the District to have expansive reporting and Malware/Ransomware mitigation capabilities. It also allows the District to use SentinelOne’s impressive AI Suite to monitor Server Infrastructure and any other machines deemed High Risk. This will protect the district against attacks similar to the attack against Broward County earlier in the year. Broward County's network was hit with ransomware that locks their data in place unless the victim is willing to pay money to have it unlocked. Broward's ransom was $40 million.
Gap Analysis The District requires AntiVirus products to protect operational data for the District to function and protect personal information for all of its citizens involved in Clay County District Schools. SentinelOne provides an expanded level of protection to protect especially against ransomware.
Previous Outcomes The previous product utilized was Fireeye. While Fireeye has done very well to keep the District safe, the new capabilities of this software will ensure vulnerabilities in our systems are mitigated.
Expected Outcomes Upon approval by the Board, IT will begin removing the previous product and install the new software to expand security measures throughout Clay.
Strategic Plan Goal Strategy 2.1 Improve Technology on all Classrooms and District Buildings.
Recommendation Approve the proposal in its entirety.
Contact Ethan Caren, Director of ITS
