Twelve students were selected to represent Clay County at the "State Science and Engineering Fair."  The students attended the state competition with several earning awards.

Several students will place in the various categories at the State level.  Awards won at the State level were:

Evan Collins - RHS - 1st Place in Earth and Environmental Science; winner of a scholarship to ISEF in Pittsburgh (Ying Award Grand Scholars);

Michael Chen - RHS - 3rd Place in Biomedical and Health Sciences;

Zachary Barken - CHS - 4th Place in Physics and Astronomy; winner of the United States Navy Science Research Award;

Dane Dorrel - RHS - Honorable Mention in Physics and Astronomy;

Madison Oakes, hailey Coughlin, Abbigayle Davis - OHS - received a "Florida Foundation for Future Scientists Recognition" award;

Tatum Wade - GCSJH - received the "Dr. Benjamin Cole Award" for outstanding achievement in Cellular/Molecular Biology and Biochemistry;

Jason Chen - RHS - received the "NASA Earth System Science Award" and a special award from Florida Association of Science Teachers.

To increase the amount of participation at the District level science event for the purpose of students being engaged in STEM related fields.

To recognize the District selections and the awards won at the State competition.
