C7 - Resolution #17-15, Partnership with St. Johns River State College

Partnership Resolution to support St. Johns River State College as a post-secondary Career and Technical Education Provider.

Gap Analysis:  Clay County has limited postsecondary career and technical opportunities particularly in vocational education.  This resolution will assist SJR State to seek funding to fill this gap in service to Clay county students, citizens and the workforce needs for business and industry.

Previous Outcomes:  Clay County School District and SJR State have a proven history of partnership in providing educational opportunities in Clay County.  These efforts have resulted in Career Pathway opportunities in Health, Business, Computer Science and Public Service as well as Dual Enrollment programming resulting in increased educational attainment levels in Clay County.

Expected Outcomes:  SJR State will seek additional funding to support expansion of Postsecondary Career and Technical programs for Clay County.  The additional programming will serve to provide greater opportunities to Clay County students and citizens as well as additional Career Pathways in support of business and industry.

Strategic Plan Goal:  This effort aligns with the Strategic Plan goals to Prepare students for a Global Workplace in particular preparing all students to graduate prepared to enter college and/or the workforce.
