CONSENT:

  • C1 Minutes of previous meetings - no discussion;
  • C2 2019 Legislative Priorities - the Board should have more input and start conversations sooner; this will be placed yearly on the December agenda for discussion;
  • C3 Personnel Consent Agenda - Superintendent reviewed job description changes; allocation changes will come next month;  
  • C4 Proposed Supplement Allocations for 2019-2020 - a committee of staff and CCEA will review all elements; total cost $2.8M; 
  • C5 Reappointments of Instructional and Support Personnel for 2019-2020 - includes PSC, CC, annual contract, and support; the attachment will be uploaded by the 48-hour deadline; administrator reappointments will be in June;
  • C6 Purchase of i-Ready Reading and Math for 2019-2020 - Mr. Davis reviewed the benefits of the curriculum; includes SAI, Title I, General, Reading;
  • C7 Ready LAFS Student Instruction Books for 2019-2020 - supplemental materials for literacy; 
  • C8 Purchase of Eureka Math Instructional Materials for 2019-2020 - supplemental materials for Math K-6;
  • C9 Purchase of Achieve 3000 Blended Literacy Solution for 2019-2020 - individualized reading levels;
  • C10 District Instructional Materials Plan - includes all platforms for instructional materials; plan shows adoption dates and materials in the various content areas;
  • C11 MOU with Electrical Training Alliance - students at OHS will have the opportunity to participate in pre-apprenticeship experience;
  • C12 K-12 Student Travel - routine student field trips;
  • C13 FLYCA Calendar for 2019-2020 - student/employee work calendar;
  • C14 Summer Programs Manual, Proposed Allocations, and Calendar - includes Pre-K, reading camp, credit recovery, etc.; expanded to 5 days of credit recovery; 
  • C15 Charter Schools Contract Amendment - to meet state reporting deadline of September 11; defining work to meet all requirements;
  • C16 Proclamation 19-13 School Library Month - being recognized in April;
  • C17 Advertise 2018-19 - 2020-21 SP&P Manual - required annually; no major changes; 
  • C18 Review 2018-19 School Improvement Plan for CEB - targeted support and intervention for improvement;
  • C19 Proposed Allocation Changes for 2018-2019 - includes police department positions to build command staff; adding school officers in June; 
  • C20 Proposed Allocation Changes for 2019-2020 - cleaning up inconsistencies and other supporting needs;
  • C21 Proposed District Non-Instructional and Administrative Staff Allocations for 2019-2020 - administrator reappointments will be in June;
  • C22 Budget Amendment Report for February 2019 - no discussion;
  • C23 Month Financial Report for February 2019 - no discussion; 
  • C24 Renewal of Employee Benefits for 2019-2020 - a significant increase in medical of 19.5% over current rates;  dental increase of 5%; discussion about follow through by the Bailey Group for teacher depot; still looking for a central location to house the depot;
  • C25 NSF Write-off Permission - total uncollectible checks equal $780.50; cleaning up old accounts; some of the families are no longer in the school system;
  • C26 Deletion of Certain Items - routine;
  • C27 Pre-Qualification of Contractors - routine; 
  • C28 Convert Temporary Easement to Permanent at MHS for FDOT Water and Force Main Utility Relocation Project - temporary granted last year; asking for permanent so they can access for routine maintenance;
  • C29 Clay Utility Authority Temporary Easement at TES/Reclaim Distribution Facility - 
  • C30 Wilkinson Junior High Parking Lot Lighting Replacement - contract award pending;
  • C31 Lakeside Junior High Parking Lot Lighting Replacement - contract award pending;
  • C32 Paterson Elementary School Fire Alarm Replacement - contract award to T & M Electric;
  • C33 Fleming Island Elementary School Fire Alarm Replacement - contract award to T & M Electric;

CLOSING COMMENTS:

The Clay County Fair luncheon is being held today at Noon.  Mrs. Studdard noted that she would not be able to attend. Evan Gould, Clay County's Teacher of the Year, is being recognized by the Orange Park Rotary Club today.
