Review Draft Agenda for Regular School Board Meeting on April 6, 2017
School Board members will review the draft agenda for the Regular School Board meeting on April 6, 2017. The workshop allows the Superintendent to present rationale for agenda items, and gives the Board the opportunity to ask questions and give input on items they are being asked to approve at the Regular meeting.
Prior to holding the agenda review workshops, the Board reviewed item detail on their own and individually called on staff or the superintendent with their questions. Reviewing the agenda items collectively in this workshop, saves time and provides clarity on what the Board is being asked to approve, as well as allowing time after the workshop for thoughtful discussion on the Board floor during the Regular meeting.
Board Members individually sought out the Superintendent and staff members with questions about agenda items and rationale for recommendations.
The Board now gains a greater understanding of the agenda items, supporting data, and recommendations.
