Description This Affiliation provides the terms of an agreement between The School Board of Clay County, Florida and St Vincent’s Health System, Inc. dba Ascension Florida and Gulf Coast, which Agreement provides for students of the School District to participate in Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) industry certification training including the clinical hours at a healthcare facility required to earn their CNA certification. Ascension St. Vincent's allows CCSD students to conduct these clinical hours at their hospital. | ||
Gap Analysis The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) industry certification requires students to participate in clinical hours at a healthcare facility to earn their CNA certification. Ascension St. Vincent's allows CCSD students to conduct these clinical hours at their hospital. Industry certifications prepare students for college and careers, provide bonus funding for CTE programs, and construction to each school's Florida Department of Education grade. | ||
Previous Outcomes The School Board and its Health Science programs have partnered with Ascension St. Vincent's and other healthcare institutions for clinicals, resulting in nearly 70 CNA certifications during the 2021-2022 school year. | ||
Expected Outcomes Approval of this item will result in hands-on experiences and clinical rotations in healthcare facilities which activities prepare students for college and careers. Additionally, an increase in CNA industry certifications is also expected.
