C7 - Advertise 2017-18 ESE and Student Services Admissions and Placement Manual included as School Board Policy.
The Admissions and Placement Manual (A&P) provides specific guidance on the implementation of state board rules and Individual with Disabilities Education Act requirements. It supports the Department of Education issued Exceptional Student Education Special Policies and Procedures (SP&P) document.
Every district must create policies to implement the state Special Policies and Procedures document. The Admissions and Placement Manual ensures the district is in compliance with all state and federal rules for educating students with disabilities and meets audit requirements.
The Admissions and Placement Manual has been the implementing document for the Florida Department of Education SP&P for many years. It provides centralized guidance for Exceptional Student Education matters.
The adoption of the Admissions and Placement Manual will provide the basis for guidance to school staff regarding all matters related to the identification, eligibility, and education of students with disabilities.
