C12 - PCG Contract Amendment
Description

School safety is a top priority. SB 7030, Rule 6A-1.0018, and  School Board Policy 9.17 require schools to complete a CSTAG (Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guideline). A  CSTAG (Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guideline) is completed  as an "assessment and intervention with individuals whose  behavior may pose a threat to the safety of school staff or  students consistent with the model policies developed by the Office of Safe Schools." SB7030

 PCG is providing an online system for Clay County District Schools to be able to complete the required CSTAG (Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines). This format will allow the schools and the Office of Safe Schools to efficiently and accurately record and monitor threats.

Gap Analysis

As state in SB 7030  CSTAG (Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guideline) is completed  as an "assessment and intervention with individuals whose  behavior may pose a threat to the safety of school staff or  students consistent with the model policies developed by the Office of Safe Schools." The use of this program will allow schools to efficiently record and monitor any threat made against our students, staff, or schools. The program will also record the Columbia Assessments a suicide risk assement for students that have threaten to harm themselves.

The use of the online platform for the CSTAG (Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guideline) will allow our schools and The Office of Safe Schools to efficiently and accurately record and monitor threats.

2.3.1 Complete all school threat assessments and successfully submit into the State Threat Assessment platform

 

 

Recommendation

The the Clay county School Board Approve the PCG ammendment addition of the online threat assessment.
